The Day of Action is a day to serve our community.
On the Sunday after Easter, regular worship services at Westside United Methodist and Cedar Hills Baptist are replaced by acts of service to our community.  Everyone in Cedar Hills is invited to join in a variety of projects including Meadow Park Middle School, random acts of kindness and serving the homeless.  Check out details below!

AGENDA FOR THE DAY OF ACTION

8:30 AM - Brief worship time at Westside UMC [map]
9 AM - 1 PM Projects!  (see below)
12:30 PM Lunch at Meadow Park Middle School

Projects for the Day of Action

Meadow Park Middle School Beautification
We'll perform much-needed grounds work and do cleanup both in and outside the school.  A painting project is also likely.  A beautiful school helps create a positive atmosphere for success - and there's a big visit by state officials coming soon!

Simple Acts of Kindness Team - Sandwiches for Hungry and Homeless in Portland

Westside United Methodist Church has an ongoing project to deliver a simple meal to hungry people by the riverfront in Portland.  Lunch-makers will gather at Cedar Hills Baptist starting at 9 AM to create the lunches.  Then, supervised youth from Westside UM and Cedar Hills Baptist will take lunch to these friends late in the morning.

Simple Acts of Kindness Team - Baked Goodies Giveaway
One of the most fun Day of Action projects is taking baked goodies, like cookies and brownies, to unsuspecting people in a variety of places in our community.  We need piles of goodies baked ahead of time in homes; then brought to Cedar Hills Baptist by 9:30 AM on April 27.  These treats will be lovingly packaged.  Volunteers will take them to various locations in the upcoming week, including the DMV, a local strip-club, schools, the rec center, and a Cedar Hills fire station.  Helpers are needed to bake and deliver!

Prayer Team
Volunteers are invited to a drop in/come and go prayer time anytime between 9 - 11 AM at Cedar Hills Baptist, or 11 AM - 1 PM at Westside United Methodist.  Prayer will focus on work projects, recipients of Simple Acts of Kindness, students and staff of Meadow Park Middle School, Barnes Elementary School, and the people and churches in our community.

All volunteers will be invited to gather for lunch and sharing of experiences at Meadow Park Middle School at 12:30 PM.
