DHS Office Remodel June 27, 2015

Cedar Hills Baptist is Helping to Remodel a Lobby at the Beaverton DHS Office

That's right!  DHS approached Love INC (which contacted us) to request community involvement in helping to bring a "warm, personal touch" to an area where children and families wait to receive services.  The area currently resembles a drab DMV office, but will become much more inviting and warmer after the remodel. Our own Sandra Hillier is working with design team volunteers from Beaverton Foursquare and Cedar Mill Bible Church to create this new space.  Our Board of Ministers recently approved a $1000 donation for this project.  This donation will be combined with money from the other churches and DHS to purchase new furniture, decorations and create a children's area with books and games.  On Saturday, June 27 from 9AM - 2PM, volunteers from the three churches are invited to join in a one-day remodel event.  Email Pastor Curtis if you'd like to be a part of this fun day (no construction or painting required).  To see the current DHS space and hear how it will be transformed, check out the video below (be patient, it loads super slowly before it will play - you can go to a faster version here: https://vimeo.com/128280845 ).
